This agreement applies between you, the User of this Website, and Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org, the owner(s) of this Website. Your agreement to comply with and be bound by Clauses 1, 2, 4 – 11, and 15 – 25 of these Terms and Conditions is deemed to occur upon your first use of the Website. Clauses 3 and 12 – 14 apply only to the sale of Services. Clause 26 is specific to the Deep Roots of Reiki tour to Japan. If you disagree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, you should stop using the Website immediately.

No part of this Website is intended to constitute a contractual offer capable of acceptance. Your order is a contractual offer. Our acceptance of that offer is deemed to occur upon sending a confirmation email indicating that your order has been accepted.

1. Definitions and Interpretation

In this Agreement, the following terms shall have the following meanings:

Account: means collectively the personal information, Payment Information, and credentials used by Users to access Paid Content and any communications System on the Website;

Content: means any text, graphics, images, audio, video, software, data compilations, and any other form of information capable of being stored in a computer that appears on or forms part of this Website;

I: Refers to the client engaging in the purchase of products, sales, tours, or other such experiences directly from rootsoflife.org (i.e. the client)

Payment Information: any details required to purchase Services from this Website. This includes, but is not limited to, credit/debit card numbers, bank account numbers and sort codes;

Premises: This means Our place(s) of business, which may change as rootsoflife.org offers global training and services

Services: means the services available to you through this Website, specifically the use of the rootsoflife.org proprietary e-learning platform;

System: means any online communications infrastructure that Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org, makes available through the Website now or in the future. This includes, but is not limited to, web-based email, message boards, live chat facilities and email links;

User / Users: means any third party that accesses the Website and is not employed by Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org, and acting in the course of their employment;

10. Accounts

10.1 To procure Services on this Website and to use certain other parts of the System, you are required to create an Account which will contain specific personal details and Payment Information, which may vary based upon your use of the Website as We may not require payment information until you wish to make a purchase. By continuing to use this Website, you represent and warrant that:

10.1.1 All information you submit is accurate and truthful;
10.1.2 You have permission to submit Payment Information where permission may be required, and
10.1.3 you will keep this information accurate and up-to-date. Your creation of an Account further affirms your representation and warranty.

10.2 You should not share your Account details, particularly your username and password. We accept no liability for any losses or damages incurred due to your sharing your account details. 10.3 If you have reason to believe that another person has obtained your Account details without consent, you should contact Us immediately to suspend your Account and cancel any unauthorized orders or payments that may be pending. Please be aware that orders or payments can only be canceled until the provision of Services has commenced. Suppose an unauthorized provision commences before you notify Us of the unauthorized nature of the order or payment. In that case, you shall be charged for the period from the commencement of the provision of services until the date you notified us and may be charged for a billing cycle of one month.
10.4 When choosing your username, you must adhere to the terms set out above in Clause 9. Any failure to do so could result in the suspension and deletion of your Account.

11. Termination and Cancellation of Accounts

11.1 Either Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org, or you may terminate your Account. If We terminate your Account, you will be notified by email, and an explanation will be provided. Notwithstanding the preceding, We reserve the right to terminate without giving reasons.
11.2 If We terminate your Account, any current or pending orders or payments on your Account will be canceled, and the provision of Services will not commence.

12. Services, Pricing and Availability

12.1 While every effort has been made to ensure that all general descriptions of Services available from Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org, correspond to the actual Services that will be provided to you, We are not responsible for any variations from these descriptions as the exact nature of the Services may vary depending on your requirements and circumstances. This does not exclude Our liability for mistakes due to negligence on Our part and refers only to variations of the correct Services, not different Services altogether. Please refer to sub-Clause 13.8 for incorrect Services. Further, it is understood that any details contained within any individual retreat, course, or experience landing page have been fully read, understood, and will be adhered to by the client.
12.2 Where appropriate, you may be required to select the required Plan of Services.
12.3 We neither represent nor warrant that such Services will be available at all times and cannot necessarily confirm availability until confirming your Order. Availability indications are not provided on the Website.
12.4 All pricing information on the Website is correct at the time of going online. We reserve the right to change prices and alter or remove any special offers occasionally and as necessary.
12.5 If prices change during the period between an order being placed for Services and Us processing that order and taking payment, then the price valid at the time of the order shall be used.
12.6 All prices on the Website do not include VAT

13. Orders and Provision of Services

13.1 No part of this Website constitutes a contractual offer capable of acceptance. Your order constitutes a contractual offer that We may accept at Our sole discretion. Our acceptance is indicated by our sending you an order confirmation email. Only once we send you an order confirmation email will there be a binding contract between Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org, and you.
13.2 Order confirmations under sub-Clause 13.1 will be sent to you before the Services begin and shall contain the following information:

13.2.1 Confirmation of the Services ordered, including full details of the main characteristics of those Services;
13.2.2 Fully itemized pricing for the Services ordered, including, where appropriate, taxes, delivery, and other additional charges;
13.2.3 Relevant times and dates for the provision of the Services;
13.2.4 User credentials and relevant information for accessing those services.

13.3 If we, for any reason, do not accept your order, no payment shall be made under normal circumstances. In any event, any sums you pay for that order will be refunded within 14 calendar days.
13.4 Payment for the Services shall be taken via your chosen payment method immediately for any setup fee that corresponds to the service plan you purchased and on the same day of each subsequent month (“billing cycle”) for charges accrued during the previous month (“billing cycle”) and as indicated in the order confirmation you received.
13.5 We aim to fulfill your Order within 2-3 working days or, if not, within a reasonable period following your Order unless there are exceptional circumstances. If we cannot fulfill your Order within a reasonable period, we will inform you when you place the Order by a note on the relevant web page or by contacting you directly after you place your Order. Time is not of the essence of the Contract, which means we will aim to fulfill your Order within any agreed timescales, but this is not an essential term of the Contract, and we will not be liable to you if we do not do so. Suppose the Services are to begin within 14 calendar days of Our acceptance of your order at your express request. In that case, you must expressly acknowledge that your statutory cancellation rights, detailed below in Clause 14, will be affected.
13.6 Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org, shall use all Our reasonable endeavors to provide the Services with reasonable skill and care commensurate with best trade practice.
13.7 If Services are provided that are not in conformity with your order and thus incorrect, you should contact Us immediately to inform Us of the mistake. We will ensure necessary corrections are made within five (5) working days.
Additional terms and conditions may apply to the provision of certain Services. You’ll be asked to read and confirm your acceptance of any such terms and conditions when you complete your Order.
13.8 Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org, provides technical support via email. Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org, makes any effort possible to respond to support requests within two business days, but we do not guarantee a particular response time.

14. Cancellation of Orders and Services

We want you to be delighted with the Products or Services you order from rootsoflife.org. If you need to speak to us about your Order, contact us by email at

14.1 If you are a consumer based within the European Union, you have a statutory right to a “cooling off” period. This period begins once your order is confirmed and the contract between Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org, and you is formed. It ends 14 calendar days after that date. If you change your mind about the Services within this period and wish to cancel your order, please inform Us immediately using the following email:

. Your right to cancel during the cooling-off period is subject to the provisions of sub-Clause 14.2.

14.2 As specified in sub-Clause 14.1, you must make an express request to that effect if the Services are to begin within the cooling off period. By requesting that the Services begin within the 14 calendar day cooling off period, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

14.2.1 If the Services are entirely performed within the 14 calendar day cooling off period, you will lose your right to cancel after the Services are complete.
14.2.2 If you cancel the Services after provision has begun but is not yet complete, you will still be required to pay for the Services supplied up until the point at which you inform Us that you wish to cancel. The amount due shall be calculated in proportion to the total price of the Services and the actual Services already provided. Any sums already paid for the Services shall be refunded subject to deductions calculated by the preceding. Refunds, where applicable, will be issued within five working days and, in any event, no later than 14 calendar days after you inform Us that you wish to cancel.

14.3 Cancellation of Services after the 14 calendar day cooling off period (for EU customers) will not be eligible for a refund.
14.4 All purchases, courses, and deliverable material on the website are non-refundable upon purchase unless demanded by law in Hong Kong (SAR. Should you reside in a location whose laws supersede the laws of Hong Kong (SAR), the client will need to provide a clause and claim (supplied by the client to rootsoflife.org) for a refund. In no circumstances will any completed courses or offerings be applicable for a refund, and further, if the course is partially completed, the user will not be entitled to a refund unless specifically required by law in Hong Kong (SAR). By enrolling in, purchasing, subscribing to, or engaging in any monetary transaction within rootsoflife.org, you agree to these cancellation policies in full.
14.5 Cancellation policies MAY differ for retreats and organized courses; if this is the case, these policies will be displayed on the landing page for the particular course or event you are enrolling in. This will only apply to LIVE and in-person training and retreats and does NOT apply to LIVE. Still, to Virtual courses, training, retreats, and other options (i.e., mentorship, training, retreats, etc., held over distance through a provider such as Zoom or Skype), Any such Live but Virtual courses will be recorded. The recording will be provided to all participants, so it will not be possible to issue refunds if participation in the Live and Virtual event is impossible.
14.6 The client understands the above policies and further understands that Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org, will make every effort to provide a satisfactory experience with the purchased product or offering via rootsoflife.org. Because of this, unless expressly stated by law that supersedes the laws of Hong Kong (SAR), the client agrees and understands that purchases from rootsoflife.org are assumed to be final, completed, and non-refundable upon purchase

19.2 We accept no liability for any disruption or non-availability of the Website resulting from external causes including, but not limited to, ISP equipment failure, host equipment failure, communications network failure, power failure, natural events, acts of war, or legal restrictions and censorship.

20. Limitation of Liability

20.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, We accept no liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage, foreseeable or otherwise, including any indirect, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from using the Website or any information contained therein. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and any prior versions thereof, the provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall prevail unless it is expressly stated otherwise.

23. Third Party Rights

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall confer any rights upon any third party. The agreement these Terms and Conditions created is between you and Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org.

24. Communications

24.1 All notices/communications shall be given to Us either by email to

. Such notice will be deemed received on the day of sending if the email is received in full on a business day and the next business day if the email is sent on a weekend or public holiday.

24.2 We may, from time to time, if you opt to receive it, send you information about Our products and services. If you do not wish to receive such information, please click on the ‘Unsubscribe’ link in any email you receive from us.

25. Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions and the relationship between you and Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org, shall be governed by and construed by the Laws of Hong Kong (SAR) and Bruce Taylor, Director, rootsoflife.org. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of said laws.

26. Special Terms for the Deep Roots of Reiki Tours

26.1
ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I acknowledge that I have voluntarily enrolled to participate in this retreat. Considering Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) allowing me to participate, I agree to this release of claims, waiver of liability, and assumption of risks. On behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, successors, administrators, and any other person who may have an interest in common law or by operation of statute, I hereby waive any and all claims I or such parties may have now or in the future. I release from liability Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) and any teachers, employees, guides, agents, or representatives (“the releasees”) who may join the tour for any personal injury, death, property damage, or loss or any nature suffered by me as a result of participation in any activity on the retreat. I release from liability Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) for any cause whatsoever, including those arising out of or in any way connected to or occasioned by the negligence of the releasees.
26.2
EXPRESS ASSUMPTION OF RISK

With my enrollment into said tour, I automatically agree that I am fully aware that there are risks involved during physical activities and the tour in general, including but not limited to the physical training inherent in any activities on the tour, and that my participation in any such activities carries with it the potential for death, injury, and/or property damage. The risks include but are not limited to falls which can result in serious injury or death; injury or death due to negligence on the part of myself, or other people around me; strains and sprains; those risks caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, condition of setting, equipment, vehicular traffic, actions of other people including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, spectators, guests. This is not an exhaustive list, and I agree to remove Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org), as well as anyone associated with rootsoflife.org and the tour, from all liability that may result from any accident or risk associated with this tour.

I willingly assume full responsibility for the risks I am exposing myself to and accept full responsibility for any injury or death resulting from participating in this tour. I realize that liability may arise from negligence or carelessness by the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective maintenance of grounds during the tour, maintained or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault. I acknowledge that I have no physical impairments, injuries, or illnesses that will endanger me or others.

I acknowledge that I am willing to participate in these activities and have assumed all risks described above. In consideration for my being allowed to participate in the activities offered, I, the undersigned hereby release Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org), their principals, teachers, agents, employees, and volunteers from any liability, claims, demands, actions, or rights of action, which are related to, arise out of, or are in any way connected with my participation in this activity, including those allegedly attributed to the negligent acts or omissions of the above-mentioned parties. This agreement shall be binding upon me, my successors, representatives, heirs, executors, assigns, or transferees. If any portion of this agreement is held invalid, I agree that the remainder of the agreement shall remain in full legal force and effect. Suppose I am signing on behalf of a minor child. In that case, I also give full permission for anyone connected with the hosting organization to administer necessary first aid. In case of serious illness or injury, I allow the call for medical and/or surgical care for the child and the child’s transport to a medical facility deemed necessary for the child’s well-being.
26.3
Indemnification: The participant recognizes the risk involved in the activities offered.

Therefore, the participant accepts full financial responsibility for any injury they may cause to themselves or any other participant due to their negligence. Should the parties mentioned above, or anyone acting on their behalf, be required to incur attorney’s fees and costs to enforce this agreement to reimburse them for such fees and costs. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) and their principals, agents, employees, and volunteers from liability for the injury or death of any person(s) and property damage that may result from my negligent or intentional act or omission while participating in activities offered. This includes but is not limited to any activities on the tour, including site visits.
26.4
MEDIA

PERMISSION FOR CAPTURE AND USE

Media is photography, video, written or verbal testimonial, or any other form of capturing likeness. For valuable consideration received, I grant to Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) the absolute and irrevocable right and unrestricted permission concerning any captured media that she/he has taken or may take of me or in which I may be included with others, to use, reuse, publish, and republish in whole or in part, individually or in connection with other material, in any publishing platforms now or hereafter known, including the Internet, and for any purpose whatsoever, specifically including illustration, promotion, art, editorial, advertising, and trade, without restriction as to alteration; and to use my name in connection with any use if she/he so chooses. I release and discharge Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) from any claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the use of the media, including without limitation any claims for libel or violation of any right of publicity or privacy. This authorization and release shall also benefit the heirs, legal representatives, licensees, and assigns of any position granted to collect media (i.e., photographer, videographer, etc.) and the person(s) for whom he/she captured the media. I am a legally competent adult with the right to contract in my name. I have read this document and fully understand its contents. This release shall be binding upon me and my heirs, legal representatives, and assigns and is in full effect via my enrollment on the tour.
26.5
WAIVER

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY

I, at this moment, agree that I, my assignees, heirs, distributees, guardians, and legal representatives will not make a claim against, sue, or attach the property of Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org), their affiliates, teachers, employees, agents, or volunteers or any of their affiliated organizations for injury or damage resulting from acts, howsoever caused, by any employee, agent, or contractor, or any of their affiliated organizations, as a result of my participation in Bruce Taylor’s (rootsoflife.org) retreats. I, at this moment, release Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) and any affiliated agents or affiliated organizations from all actions, claims, or demands that I, my assigns, heirs, distributees, guardians, and legal representatives now have or may hereafter have for injury, damage, or death resulting from my participation in Bruce Taylor’s (rootsoflife.org) retreats.

I am medically, physically, emotionally, and in all respects fit and able to participate in Bruce Taylor’s (rootsoflife.org) retreats.

I agree to be fully and financially responsible for my physical condition and well-being during the retreat and will follow the safety precautions and instructions prescribed by The Host.

I acknowledge that Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) may make suggestions from time to time that are intended to help me and my well-being. However, I take ultimate responsibility for my choices and realize that Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) is not a licensed medical provider and that I must consult my doctor.

If I experience pain or discomfort during the retreat, I modify Bruce Taylor’s (rootsoflife.org) instructions to suit my needs. I will not hold Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) responsible for any pain or discomfort I experience during or after the retreat. I understand that the activities offered on this retreat are not a substitute for medical care. Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) is not qualified to perform spinal or skeletal adjustments, diagnose, prescribe, or treat physical or mental illness.

By agreeing to the terms outlined here and elsewhere on rootsoflife.org, I release and discharge my rights and claims for damages or liabilities that may result from participation in Bruce Taylor’s (rootsoflife.org) retreat.

This Agreement shall be agreement and construed by the laws of the State of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.

Further Acknowledgments

I further acknowledge that by enrolling in and participating in the Deep Roots of Reiki Tour, I agree and fully express that I have read and understood any and all tour policies (inclusive of refund policy, tour size, tour dates, etc.) on any of the tour landing pages.

Also, I acknowledge that all contents of this liability form are automatically agreed to with my enrollment in the tour and that I have read and fully understood it.

Further, I acknowledge that, by the nature of my enrollment in and precipitation in the tour, I will entirely remove Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) and any associated guests, teachers, and personnel from any further liability not explicitly noted in this form. Under no circumstances will I hold Bruce Taylor (rootsoflife.org) or any associated gusts, teachers, and personnel liable for any claims, charges, legal recourse, or other recourse, express or otherwise, due to my attendance on this tour.

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed by the laws of Hong Kong, SAR, and CHINA, in which rootsoflife.org is a registered trading company. Should any claim be believed warranted that falls outside the scope of these complete terms and conditions, then I acknowledge that any such claims shall only be raised within the jurisdiction of Hong Kong. I acknowledge that no external claims will be made in any external jurisdiction (country or otherwise).
